Thank you for your advice and help. However, because this particular iMac G4 didn't look so good, I am no longer interested in it. I did, though, buy an iMac G5 17" (1.8 GHz with Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse) for $328.95. Earlier today, I tried to bid on a iMac G5 with an Intel processor that was running Snow Leopard. I lost by $5.01! :( I wanted that one so badly!

Sounds like an interesting compression technology. I ordered the white paper so I'll post if there's anything interesting. At first, I thought it was a "new and improved" JPEG, but it's just a way of compressing the JPEG images into a .sit file. Still interesting, but not quite as much so.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me from back when the mid-2010 iMacs launched, but I purchased one, and despite loving the system, I ended up having to return it due to having a lot of eye strain while using it for even five minutes. With the new iMacs having been launched today, I decided to pick up a new one to attempt to adjust to the screen again, as I really, REALLY loved the system, and I hated being back on a Windows machine.
I'm not certain why, but I'm having next to no issues this time around; I've been using the system nearly non-stop for the last two hours, and I've had very minimal eyestrain compared to last year's model! Absolutely NOTHING has changed whatsoever with my vision or lighting conditions in my PC room.
Was something possibly changed with the displays for this release that has alleviated my issues almost entirely? If so, I'm certainly not complaining. :) And hopefully those other individuals besides myself that were having the same issues previously will be able to use the new iMacs with relative ease, as well!

I'm not sure what it says above but Holiday bump. Asking $250 for everything. I would only trade for an ipod video but would really prefer some cashola via paypal and in the states ONLY. You can figure on paying $215+ range for the camera alone. I'm not sure what the card is now but it should be $100ish retail and no less than half that on ebay. So you're getting this mint used camera with the card, case, and extra battery .....with battery charger ofcourse for a pretty rockin deal. This would make an excellent gift since it is compact and yields stellar results. This will outperform your standard kodak easycrap 4mp camera or any of the lower line canon's...you know, that garbage that they sell cheap at christmas. So somebody......please buy!!

The only thing i would worry about is if Nintendo pulls a M$ and when/if they release online games that they won't let you online because you modified your hardware.

Analogy withstanding, he does have a point. The Yankees have ignored Torre as part of their legacy ever since their nasty parting back in 2007.
The Yankees are doing the same with in regards to the Old Stadium.
I think it has to do with the book Ive read some of it and i still think that the book was to soon to be written had Joe written it probably 3 years from now things would have been diffrent.

Try a Thinkpad T-series. Best-built for the money, with user-replaceable parts (try finding that on most machines today), and a keyboard that puts all others to shame.
ThinkPad displays suck, otherwise a nice computer. Huge mistake on Lenovo's behalf imo.

To sue someone, you have to know who they are so you can serve them. What's Apple going to do, sue comex? chpwn? Apple doesn't know who they are. Sony knew who geohot was because he's an attention whore.

I dont understand why you insist on spending $60+ on a converter board and bracket...everyone including myself have a lot of success with the one from smk312 on ebay and I believe its $20-$28. There are really no electronics on that board, it basically just converts from one plug to another.

One reason I want to do this is because the hd on my imac is filling up quickly, and if I am going to use a separate hd for storage, I might as well use the g5, right?
So, with vnc on than I can control the g5 from my iMac?

I think I got what you want, but unfortunately I tweaked a little here and there too much and so I'm not completely sure what all I changed. I'm attaching a screen shot of the result in Firefox 4 RC1. As a note, the page doesn't look right in Opera 11. The background gradient color on the body is what's off.

The Maxtor in my PM sounds like a hamster on a wheel compared to my nice, quiet Seagate.
Heh heh. Free pet sounds like value for money though. :-)
I'm looking at buying from ebuyer.co.uk and the user reviews on there for the WD and the Seagate both seem pretty good so I'll get one or the other.

hi i know that my old ibook g3s fw port didnt charge my ipod when it was asleep; my new g4 12 1.33 sez it is charging my ipod but the other day my ipod died when it still had some chartge left. does this mean that its simply dead or it is not in fact being charged while asleep, and only when awake? thankx. ruby, don't take your love to town
